My NYC - Post Thunderstorms

Published May 26th, 2012

Urban hot and sticky is ugly. Always. Today was one of those days filled with humidity that clogged the airways, made moving feel like drowning. All day long the sky often darkened until the climax of the thunderstorms arrival. After the downpour the sky brightened, brought bits of blue, lots of clouds with the sun peeking through as it headed to set in the west.

Heat and humidity still remained, slowing the pace of steps of folks who now were out and about since the impending, threatening, warning-filled storm had passed.

Traces of the storm clung to people, leaves, flowers, critters.

Sunset on buildings

As the sun moves westward it moves across the faces of buildings on the north side of this NYC city street, gradually moving across the facades, fire escapes, gates.

This is Number 147 for my #Project365 of one photo a day every day.

The whispering version of Purple

Lavender is the quiet side of Purple, the one that whispers the beauty of that color in a pastel shade.

This photo is a SOOC - straight out of the camera.
