My real name is Ioannis Kazolis but most people know me simply as John Caz! I first grabbed a camera in '88 and shortly afterwards found myself working as a news photographer for the Blacktown City Guardian in the western suburbs of Sydney, Australia. After a lot of front pages and other successes for both the Guardian and other publications I decided to leave the fast pace of Australia for the more peaceful lifestyle of my beloved Greece where I have been residing since 1998. In spite of the negative growth and economic difficulties that Greece is up against, I insist on living and working there. Over the years I've been fortunate enough to have been published by many publications in various countries including Australia, USA, Germany and Greece. Some of those clients include the following: Bicycling Magazine (USA) World Trade Press (USA) Sydney Morning Herald (Australia) Blacktown City Guardian (Australia) WeingArten (Germany) Geoff Allen Electronics (Australia) Camper & Travel (Greece) Photo-Net (Greece) Photo-Net Professionαl (Greece) Computer for all (Greece) Digital Camera (Greece) I have also been featured and interviewed by the Eleutherotipia newspaper, Fotografos, Euronatur and Photonet Magazines. I've been fortunate enough also to have been awarded various places and commendations for my work by Geographical Magazine 2004, Euro Photo Press Awards 1998, 2003, 2004, 2005, GDT 2004, 2006, Leica Academy 2003, 2004, Fujifilm Landscape contest 1999 and the Australian Mills Award 1994. AF-S 24-120mm f/4G ED VR

Published February 28th, 2013

..... After reading the above, I hope you undertsand that I'm not claiming that this is a better lens than the AFS 24-70mm f/2.8G that I sold, though it's not that far off. I did the switch mainly because i had a need for more reach. Getting back to the lens in question, all i can say is that it's a MUST have lens for any Nikon shooter, whether hobbyist, semi-pro or pro. The 24-120mm f/4 lens has the capabilities for producing very sharp pictures with pleasing backgrounds while still offering a large zoom range from wide angle to tele! If you are an FX shooter and can only afford to invest in one lens then this is the one - albeit expensive. Its remarkably robust compared to the competition, its very sharp and its distortion is acceptable in all but the most critical applications.

Published January 29th, 2013
