My name is Jon Goings and I am a freelance photographer, focusing on landscapes in particular. Born in Winnipeg and now living in the nearby town Otterburne, I have spent the majority of my life under the ever-changing skies of Manitoba.
Enrolled at Providence University College, I am completing my advanced degree in Communications and Sociology. This faith-based journey is helping shape how I view and interact with the realms of media and society. Passionate for God and fascinated by the great unknown, my work is grounded in the belief that all things are inherently beautiful and unique. Quite often, the shortest moments prove to be the most memorable and I aim to share these brief wonders with you.
My imaginative childhood was fuelled by basement nostalgia, such as my father's long forgotten Viewmaster collection. I was enamoured by the idea of a fantastic scene, some ethereal vista just beyond my reach. Those who know me well can vouch for my love of adventure, exploring the unfamiliar in pursuit of discovery. My perspective has become primarily that of a dreamer.
As a registered member of WpgPhoto and regular contributor to Providence departments, I am provided with countless opportunities by both communities. Fortunately my work was featured in the all-positive publication Lionface: The Sentient, which strived to help people know better, feel better and live better. This is my desire for you as well.
I invite you to see as I see. Start dreaming again.
