Born and brought up in Asansol, a small town in West Bengal, ever since my school days I had been into some form of art or the other like most Bengalis - be it music or painting. I remember always being fascinated with clicking photographs.
With very little time being an IT professional, photography provided a great release from the daily drab. Once I started walking through the conundrum of the streets of Delhi, photography for me evolved from being a hobby to a passion to a looking glass. I learned from the works of various great photographers, but my greatest tutor has been life itself. My lens helps me to look at life around me in frames and colors. Each of my photographs is a little part of me, out there in the world defining who I am.
I started taking pictures with film point and shoots. After a couple of years of working, I purchased my own Canon SX100IS and used it for 2 years to learn the basics of aperture, shutter speed and frame. Soon with technology changing, I bought my first DSLR Canon 1000D. And now I have graduated to the Canon 7D, my most prized possession. Having said this about the gear, photography is all about having that eye for detail, enjoying, capturing and eternalizing life’s moments
