My Sylva

Published December 30th, 2012

The most wonderful place on me, anyway. My father was born in the house he lives in right now. He's 75 years old, and the hero of my life. Never a bad word to anyone, he walks the walk. I was taken away from him at an early age, but reconnected later on in my life.

This is Sylva, North Carolina. The name speaks for itself, for it is nestled in the Smoky Mountains, not too many folks live there, but those of us who are able to say our roots are here, are proud to do so. The quiet beauty of this mountain community has the mystique of a fairy land.

There is a mist that comes over the mountains in the mornings, and if you are hiking early you will experience the beauty of this area.

I will always love this place, and I hope many of you get to visit it. Thanks for letting me tell you about Sylva.
