Kari Korpihete

I am a real estate agent and a longtime photographer who lives in Lauttasaari in Helsinki. I got my first camera when I was ten years old. My mother brought me as a gift a Lubitel2 box camera from Soviet Union. It was surprisingly good and sturdy Russian camera. My most active period of photography was in the 1970's and 1980's when I was very busy taking photos. The next couple of decades were somewhat quieter as a photographer for me as I was coaching football, and that took all of my free time. The tables have now turned and I revived my old hobby of photography in autumn -04. Photos have started to slowly accumulate, and some of them can be found here in my Photo gallery (Kuvagalleria). During this time I have had two photo exhibitions in Espoo. The first in Sello in Leppävaara, and the second in Viherlaakso library. I also, for the first time, took part in a big international photo exhibition, 1st Finland International Digital Circuit 2009. Five of my photos were accepted to the exhibition, and of those the photo "Ode to wine" was awarded PSA HM Ribbon and the photo "Evening at sea" got in two exhibitions Honorable Mention award. All the exhibition photos are in the Santorini 2009 folder in my photo gallery.
