March 12

Published March 13th, 2012

Woke up early, and saw a clear sky, so decidedd to get out and take some pre-dawn and sunrise shots. I was heading for the river in Hull city centre, but then realised it was a little misty, so decided to divert to the Humber bridge. I went via swanland planning on shooting from the riverside at north ferriby, but by the time I was coming down the hill it was obvious the fog was too thick down by the river, so I stopped on the hill and took these shots across the top of the fog bank. It got denser as the sunrise came closer, and the far end of the bridge completely sank below the flow of fog.

Cloud 9

processed with elements 9 for raw extraction and dirt removal, prefer photoscape for tweaking colour and cropping

Swanland Hill

Fog over the River and bridge (Humber) from Swanland at dawn.

This was the only good shot I got before the far end ws completely drowned in fog.

This is a composite of 3 (-1,0,+1 ev) put togethre with photomatix and then cleaned in elements 9 ( a few bird blurrs remain on the right edge, there were a lot of crows flying about and the triple exposure means they are everywhere, but too blurred to be left in)

Layered

Fogg at dawn from Swanland

I loved the shaped of the trees against the layers of fog
