Keith Carver

Keith Carver has been a nature photographer for over thirty years and since retiring in 2005 from the University of Massachusetts has specialized primarily in bird photography. He has populated his extensive website (krcarver.zenfolio.com) with over 2300 images of birds photographed from southeast Texas through the Atlantic seaboard to the Gaspé peninsula in Canada, and west to New Mexico and Arizona. For bird photography, he uses a Canon 1DMk3 or Canon 7D, coupled with a 500 mm f4 lens, sometimes with a 1.4x teleconverter. For landscapes, he uses the Canon 5DMk2 full-frame DSLR with various wide-angle lenses including a fisheye lens. Recently he has begun to create abstract images of birds and landscapes, using Photoshop filters such as Fractalius, Nik Viveza, and Topaz Simplify. Carver resides in western Massachusetts from October through May, and spends summers in midcoast Maine.
