Photo enthusiast and coach who has been on a long journey of trying different cameras, lenses, films, and formats (thank you eBay!), but recently concluded that you can do more with less these days if you are willing to add just a little more technique and patience. I've been through my Velvia (exagerrated saturation) and HDR (unreal range) days, but have settled on healthy RAW histograms as a means for creating satisfying photos.
I love coaching folks to take their photography skills to the next level, while discovering their photographic voice at the same time.
My first advice is on equipment: it's okay to be cheap on your camera and lenses, but don't be cheap with the tripod. A bad tripod will cancel out the best camera equipment.
