Closing Off the Year of the Dragon @ Yuyuan

For one week just before the Chinese New Year officially kicks off every year, the government turns Yuyuan from a crowded tourist attraction into an orgy of camera flashes, cliche poses, and power wastage.

Having already experienced the carnage during my first Spring Festival in China, I opted to spend the second one in a more peaceful setting called Burnaby.

Now in my third Chinese New Year celebrations, I thought I'd make arduous trek across the street (literally!) to once again bask in the LED and neon radiation. Granted it was packed, but where else in the world can you see this much red and yellow, with some green strewn in between?
