Born and raised in Hermannstadt/Sibiu in the heart of central Romania, German artist Klaus S. Henning has been living in Germany and in Canada since the late 80’s pursuing a career in electrical engineering and project management.
:: As a craftsperson and artist, he is mostly self-taught and is influenced by his surroundings and travels across Europe, North-America, and more specifically to Canada, Romania, Israel and India. Klaus is a photographer since more than two decades as well as does drawings and paintings for about 28 years concentrating his efforts on china ink, collage and stained glass(tiffany)-style drawings. In the past couple of months Klaus has added ceramic pottery to his mix of interests.
:: Recently, Klaus spent 13 + 6 months in the Seoul Metropolitan Area (Korea) and in the Province of Songkhla (Thailand) ... and absorbed many vibrant cultural impressions from these magnificent Asian countries.
:: A great influence and inspiration to his artistic work in the past 14 years derives from the private collection of native art called "4-Continents" that Klaus founded in Montréal, QC back in the year 2001 and has now grown to include over 80 objects from Africa, The Americas, Europe and Asia.
