A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to visit friends in Norway. I was only there for 5 days but it was the most beautiful summer holiday I have ever been on. The country is breathtaking, there are so many trees and natural bodies of water, I noticed this as the plane descended into Oslo airport and at that moment I knew I would love it there. The houses are mostly made of wood and are usually white or red, they are such handsome buildings that they compliment the natural surroundings.
The family I stayed with live near Tvedestrand which is a 'seaside' town, all of the houses are situated along the fjord and everyone owns several boats. During my time there I went out to sea and climbed on the skerries before going snorkeling, on a small hike around the island borøya and sailing to a tourist village, only accessible by boat, called lyngør.
Not only that, the people in Norway are wonderful, kind hearted, welcoming, generous and have family values to be admired.
I will be going again.
