I took a wrong turn on the way home from a job and stumbled past Mt. Auburn Cemetery. A largely abandoned cemetery in south Baltimore City. It was clear that people had mad efforts to care for the rather large cemetery. Some recently. Someone had taken a bush cutter through parts of the cemetery at least once this summer. Other portions, however, were completely grown over and turning to woods. Buildings on the property were boarded, or already collapsed.
But you know it was oddly serene. Wildflowers had taken over areas, and there was a small glimpse of the bay. These souls were returned to nature. I'd be OK with that.
