The Show Must Go On

It is the peak of the dance season as our local dance school prepares for the recital. Over the past two years I have been fortunate enough to be invited by the owner to take the official photos of the performance which is a great opportunity to test equipment, styles and methods while working with models who are made-up and in costume.

For this years performance I upgraded my flash equipment by purchasing a 7' parabolic umbrella and putting three strobes in it (One Canon and two new Yunguo's) for my key light using Yonguo triggers. It worked great and I love the soft light it produces. Here are some shots of my daughters with that setup.

World War II Museum

My son was selected to represent Oregon at the opening of the U.S. Freedom Pavilion in New Orleans. He, with 50 other young adults, took part in the ceremonies and created displays for the museum. It was a great experience and a wonderful museum.

Olympic Dreams

My son and oldest child has been fencing for a little over two years. He entered the Junior Olympic qualifiers yesterday and after a disappointing showing discovered he qualified to compete in the Junior Olympics in Maryland in February! Here are some pics from the tournament.
