Arien

Published May 6th, 2012

These photos show in more detail the origin of a few of my shots on my main page.

This is the Arien, I believe a long decomissioned patrol boat from World War II (I'm struggling to find any details since the name has probably changed several times). The boat currently sits on the wharf in Birgu, Malta. This made an interesting subject to photograph. However, the best shots were close in to the boat giving 2 excellent abstract shots which are show at the bottom of the page.

Bow side on

Bow

A straight on shot of the bow showing where the anchor would have been connected. This is a great shot in itself, but the streaks from the rust really make this stand out.

Layers

The is the side of the boat below the waterline showing the many layers of paint that have been applied over the years. This made for a great abstract shot.
