Pots and pans for the revolution

As the student movement keeps drawing in attention from the public, supporters join the protesters each night by banging on pots and pans in a recreation of the Chile protests that took place under Pinochet. The multiplication of these family-friendly groups allowed the movement to take a broader turn, getting older and usually more peaceful people involved.

May 22nd Protest

To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the student strike, a monster protest was organized in Montréal. People of all ages gathered under an uncertain sky for a walk that lasted 3 hours, during which no violences were reported.

Montréal riots: May 20th

With the adoption of the new special law against protest, opposition to the government grows stronger. Aprotest that was supposed to be peaceful turned into a riot half an hour after it started, and lasted most of the night. The cops attempts at dispersing the people were useless; texting allowed the rioters (as well as the photographers stalking them) to quickly reunite. 300 protesters were arrested and ten were injured following the intervention of the Anti-Riot squad. Medias won't be stopped: we were lucky tonight not to be arrested, but that will not prevent us from spreading the word.
