2012: January 16th. Paris, Day 1

Finally back in Paris.

20 hours ago I couldn't believe I was doing this. This meaning I'm travelling alone with a one way ticket from SFO to CDG. The flight over was OK. Had a hard time sleeping and wasn't interested in a lot of the options available on British Airways. As we were making our descent into the city, I could see the sun going down and amazing sunset colors through a passenger's window. Oh how I wish I could've been on a bridge over the Seine at that moment. Hot pink with shades of purple and orange were in the sky as I waited in baggage claim, which made me want to bolt outside to catch what I could on my camera. Unfortunately that would also mean I wouldn't be able to get my luggage since it was in a secure area. Sigh.

I followed the instructions my host gave me. Texted her that I was on my way via RER B and should see her soon. It was fairly easy to find my apartment thanks to the friendly Parisians I encountered. The stereotype (the French are rude and not nice) did ...
