Matteo Lucarelli

Born in 1969 I started taking pictures in the '80s. In my university student days I earned my living as a semi-pro photographer (mostly weddings and concerts). After a long period on basic snapshot photography I'm now back to SLRs with renewed passion and interest. As anyone can argue from the images on my profile, I've no preferred themes (well, actually I make a lot of family shots, but these are private, not shared here). I like every aspect of photography and try to produce pleasant images. I like high key and natural colours.

the luthier

Published September 4th, 2012

Being also an amateur guitarist a couple of years ago I became aware of Silvia Zanchi, luthier in Bergamo. As personal research I have proposed to create a service on her work. Silvia is a serious professional who, in addition to performing settings and repairs, manufactures precious instruments with a focus on early instruments. For more infos visit her website (silviazanchi.it). Some of the photos have been published in a magazine. The whole job can be seen on my photoblog (mlph.altervista.org)

Solitude of a summer sunday

Published August 29th, 2012

Walking through the neighborhood of my childhood in a moment of nostalgia I relived the sensations of summer Sundays in the city.

Processing "Polaroid like" is functional to the desired atmosphere, to create imeges that may have been taken at any time.

Kapadokya Balloons

Published April 26th, 2012

A hot air baloon flight int the dawn of Kapadokya is like living in a dream for a couple of hours. The baloon is the only means of transportation that makes not noise at all, moving with the air you cannot even hear the blow of the wind.

Linear Scanner

Published April 20th, 2012

This is not a story but somehow these images represent a time in my personal history with photography. I shot them at work in the period between my first phase (as student and semi-pro photographer) and the current return to amateur SRL photography. The employed equipment is a fast linear scanner that I use regularly in my work as an engineer. I find the result is very unusual with human subject so I've decided to post it here.
