Battersea Fireworks

Published April 20th, 2012

Bonfire night, one of those magical nights of the year, oozing with memories from my childhood..(my childhood?! gosh I'm old!)

There's just something about the way the flames dance, and the shapes you can see in them that bring a warm fuzzy feeling of awe and wonderment.

Battersea Park

Beautifully underlit trees and spotlights peppered the display area before the show began.

The crowd basks in the warm glow of the bonfire

Flame Spit

The bonfire angrily spits out a tuft of fire. It was so lucky I was upwind. The guys on the other side must have loved the masses of smoke headed their way.

Bonfire 4

I tried a long(ish) exposure to try and capture the movement of the flames. I guess it sorta worked. Here I see several demons rising out of the pillar xD

Flame Within

The crowds gather around the almost biblically huge pillar of flame. I'd like to think it represents the flame of friendship between everyone there blazing brightly, but most of them don't even know each other...

So as the bonfire raged on, I turned towards the main fireworks display. Unfortunately they're harder to shoot than it seems. But here are some obligatory shots of the actual show :D

Twin Eyes

Staring down at us, from afar.

Red and Gold

Firework's they're kinda like us. Fleeting. I guess we're all just hoping to put on a decent show for the time that we have, before fading away. If we're lucky we'll be remembered.

Chasing Trails

Their respective chaotic trails weave amongst each other forming a net of colour. I really do love fireworks, and am rather annoyed I couldn't do them justice.

I guess there's always next year
