My name is Ingo Meckmann – usually not as evil looking as on the picture – and the only person on the planet with that name – pretty cool when googling yourself.
I am living in Switzerland with my family and work as an IT Manager. I am not a professional photographer but I am very passionate about my photography and despite having a full-time job, a lovely wife and 3 boys I spend as much time as possible with my photography.
A little photographic history of myself:
I bought my first camera in 1991 – the Canon EOS Rebel (Canon EOS 1000 in Europe). I entered the Digital world in 2001 (after my first son was born) with the glorious Minolta Dimage 7 – a 5.2 Megapixel camera. It was amazing for its time and I produced my Biggest Print Ever with that Minolta. In 2005 I switched back to Canon and purchased the Digital Rebel XT (EOS 350D in Europe) shooting with the kit-lens and an old 70-300 f/3.5-5.6 which I bought in the early 90′s for the analog SLR – this lens was also the reason why I decided for Canon and not Nikon. In 2007 I bought my first real lens, the Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 which really pulled me in.
I haven’t started shooting regularly until 2008 when I moved with my family to Stamford, CT. NYC was very close-by and I never went there without my DSLR. I bought the Canon 5D Mark II in December 2008 and have shot nearly 100,000 pictures since then. We moved back to Switzerland in Summer 2009 which didn’t stop me to follow my passion.
