Nashville-based photographer Mickey Bernal is always looking for more. He’s been shooting since childhood and loves all things photographic. His main focuses have been live events and landscapes, though has recently added portraiture to his list.
His love of music has led him to shoot some of rock’s biggest bands including the Pretenders, Blues Traveler, Ben Harper and the Rolling Stones. He loves to help emerging bands by providing them with strong visual branding.
Since moving to Nashville 7 years ago from his hometown of St. Louis, Missouri, he’s been concentrating his efforts on continuing his education. He also started getting into the local old-time music scene by accompanying his wife, who plays OT fiddle, to many of the local jams. The couple started witnessing a strong local resurgence of old-time jams, concerts and barn dances. Add to that, the concentration of such immense talent in town, Mickey realized someone needed to be documenting what could very well be a historic time for the musical genre.
Clients include: Nashville Old-Time Stringband Association, Chronically Hip Studios, Mark Miller, Mary Alice Wood, Jake’s Leg, The Ladue News, First National Bank, SESAC, Elliot Houser, A Room Away, Aubrey Rowe and Vanderbilt.
