What motivates me
Of course expensive equipment does not necessarily make for better pictures in regards to composition and impact. It does however provide you with a tool that presents you with a lot more options and with raw picture material of a significantly higher quality. I am certainly not an amateur who always needs the best and most expensive lenses that many professionals do not even own. Rather, my expectation is to create impressive photos that enthrall the viewer and myself, photos that generate an impact. Technology is not a universal remedy and is there to support, not dominate, the art of photography.
When I take my camera and set off, I dive into a different world. I forget time and have a much more sophisticated and intense experience of my surroundings. I delve into a world of peace and relaxation, but also of concentration. The way I see things changes and becomes an adventure, an experience: I dissect objects in much more detail when I try to reproduce them than when I only look at them. I see details that would be otherwise overseen. The lens coverage of my camera becomes tangible and is brought to life.
