My dad gave me my first camera as a birthday present in fourth grade- a Kodak 110 instamatic. It opened a new world for me, and I looked around me composing pictures from everyday scenes. I can still remember several of my favorite photos from that time. Dad was my first inspiration as he had a professional Nikon camera and several of his gallery-quality images hung around our house. I just wanted to be as good a photographer as he was.
In high school, I began working at local photog haven Walnut House Films where I soaked up all I could from the experience – from choosing the right lens to darkroom processing. I also bought my first new professional camera.
The advent of high-quality digital photography has renewed my love for the art, because I can try to bring to print what is in my minds eye. I find beauty in so many places – from the vast wilds of Alaska, to the rugged textures in the Tetons, and from the energy of the young to the depth of the oldest faces. Thank you for taking the time to visit my site and view my work.
