Michael Molter

Experienced Danish Landscape Photographer. I have photographed for over 30 years and prefer Landscape, Architecture and Travel Photography and I really like early mornings as well as late evenings light. At the days of the film analog camera, my favorite film was Fuji Velvia - I have tried to bring that expressive color with me into the days of digital.

English Photographer Tanya Hames and Danish Photographer Adam Bindslev said following about my work at a recent competition (Momento Summer Contest) where they acted a judges:

The beauty of the landscape
In this portfolio, masterful use of colour and light invite the viewer into places and landscapes that are balanced and calm. The sheer beauty of the landscape is laid bare for the viewer to revel in and wonder at.

There is such a sense of tranquillity and serenity in each image, although this feeling is also underlined by a sense of solitude and loneliness because of the lack of a human element. It’s just us, the photographer and the camera – the landscapes are so vivid that we can almost hear the wind and water; the sense of ‘being there’ is intense and almost palpable.

The photographer’s use of lines and perspective to draw the viewer into their world is wonderful, as is the use of depth of field to further enhance the feeling that we could just walk forever through the image, marvelling at the shapes, colours and textures found within the natural world.

Each image in this portfolio is not a fragment of a larger world, but is a complete world contained within each frame. Each image easily stands alone as a glorious testament to the beauty of the landscape, but as a portfolio it has coherence, a common theme and a huge visual impact.

Participating works in the contest (Momento Summer Contest) were:

2. Alpenglow on the Watchman, Zion NP,
