The Egyptian Revolution - Leaving Cairo

As we have been living in Egypt since the 2008, these shots represent a very difficult and dramatic moment in our life, the Egyptian Revolution. After 3 days of demonstrations and heavy clashes between police and the population on the streets of Cairo, the situation finally precipitated when the police disappeared from the streets and prisoners were released from the jails. The army was deployed. On the early morning of January 30th at 2:25am, we received a telephone call from the security officer of the company saying to get prepared for leaving Cairo in few hours. These pics have been taken on the way from Maadi, where we lived, to the Cairo airport. A huge feeling of concern and sadness, we left all our belonging behind, only one piece of hand luggage, my cameras and the cat with us. Of course, Lili the cat was evacuated as well.
