Morrie Portnoff

Photography has been a journey both technically and visually over the decades. From my first SLR (Praktica LTL) and home darkroom with a Durst J35 enlarger all at the tender age of 13 years of age to today where technology is ever changing. But photography is not about having the latest equipment… it is about having a vision and bringing that vision to light. This photographic vision evolves as a dynamic entity.

Professionally, I am a graphic designer with my own company (Nunavik Graphics) but (pardon the cliché) photography is my passion. There is nothing more relaxing than to grab my camera and head out, be it to one of the local nature parks or the back alleys of Montreal. And, occasionally these images find their way as part of client's brochure or book publishing project.

The main thing is to keep it fun and enjoy the journey, no matter where it may lead.
