Photography has been a journey both technically and visually over the decades. From my first SLR (Praktica LTL) and home darkroom with a Durst J35 enlarger all at the tender age of 13 years of age to today where technology is ever changing. But photography is not about having the latest equipment… it is about having a vision and bringing that vision to light. This photographic vision evolves as a dynamic entity. Professionally, I am a graphic designer with my own company (Nunavik Graphics) but (pardon the cliché) photography is my passion. There is nothing more relaxing than to grab my camera and head out, be it to one of the local nature parks or the back alleys of Montreal. And, occasionally these images find their way as part of client's brochure or book publishing project. The main thing is to keep it fun and enjoy the journey, no matter where it may lead.

Incrediable B&W images

Published July 28th, 2011

Came across a fellow photographer on 500px, Vernon Trent. He only has posted 14 photo but 14 incredible ones... quality not quantity!

He also states the following which I think is so true...

"amateurs worry about equipment,

professionals worry about money,

masters worry about light,

I just make pictures..."

Sometimes you get lucky...

Published July 27th, 2011

Sometimes you get lucky and have a client whom is interesting and lets you do your job with out restrictions, at least with respect to the design. Joel Kreps is just that client. We just finished designing his third book. The second for me with respect to doing the layout and graphic design. In both cases one of my photos graces the book's cover. This is his most recent literary adventure. The cover photo was taken in Parc île Bizard.

In the beginning...

Published July 27th, 2011

This will be the start of my new blog site. My former photo blog site will remain up for those whom wish to look at the images posted.

This new chapter of blogging will focus (blatant photo pun #1) not on individual photos but the story behind a series or photo. So please stay tuned…
