Two years ago, I was in Las Vegas, photographing Jónsi, the lead singer of Sigur Rós at the House Of Blues. I took this photo of a young girl, completely enthralled by the music (the top one you see below).
Last night, as I was again in front of the crowd at the Sigur Rós show, I was asked by a young girl how I get the chance to photograph bands, so we started a conversation.
I noticed in her hands, a mask. I immediately asked her if she had been to see Jónsi before, and indeed she had. I was talking to the same girl in the top photo, that two years ago, was in Las Vegas for the Jonsi show. She knew about the photo because it was used on the Jónsi website and I told her that he was the one who took the photo.
The moment was surreal. The second image you see below, is of that same girl, last night, with the same mask, at the Sigur Ros show, staring straight into the camera. Incredible.
