Brian Burn is an emerging artist bridging the gap between Low Brow and Pop culture with bold multi-media collage. His art blurs the line between the fashion industry and shades of David Lynch. It compels the viewer to notice the High Art and also gives the feeling that something is askew and subliminal. The beauty and the strangeness live together in harmony on the canvas.
In his personal life, he has been performing rock n roll songs that he wrote in and around LA since 2012 with various projects. Self-taught in all forms. He is deeply inspired by the strange, eerie, fascinating, sexual, and beautiful parts of life. He draws his images from collage, mixed media, and acrylic painting at times with some digital editing.
Brian is a Surrealist artist with a love for artists like Andy Warhol, Salvador Dali, Vincent Van Gogh, and Marilyn Manson to name a few. He states, "I started playing with collage early on in an attempt to bring lyrics to life from my songs and writing. Fashion magazines really called out to me with their 'over the top' poses and shoots. I find the fashion world imagery almost transcendental and blissful. My process of creating is an ongoing experiment of uncharted waters and it's very soothing to me.” Brian Burn looks forward to continually evolving with time and fashion. He aims to show his perspective and encapsulating his own soul and presence in the mean time. More of his work can be see on his Instagram account, @son_of_the_mourning.
