TWITPICS, ©OPYRIGHT AND MAKING INFRINGERS PAY With the proliferation of phones capable of taking photos and sharing them instantly via social networks has come an attitude from news organisations that these images are somehow not subject to normal copyright. This is completely wrong, and you can do something about it... read on: ____________________________________ THE MOST DIFFICULT THING IN PHOTOGRAPHY IS RESISTING THE TEMPTATION TO PRESS THE SHUTTER BUTTON. • Today, everybody photographs, but not everybody takes photographs. This applies particularly to 'street photography'. • Judging by what I see, shooting from the hip is futile about 90% of the time. There appear to be very few people capable of producing acceptable results. • A photograph by the nature of being in black & white, does not automatically make it a good photograph. • HDR is not a substitute for being creative, producing in the hands of the unskilled the most horrendous results. And it is for that reason that I wish that it had never been invented/discovered. • My 2cts. ------------------------------------------------------------- From a 6x9 Box Brownie to digital, which I rather like, I have owned and used a few cameras over the years. I have worked in photo journalism for many years, both in the field, and on the desk, and I think I know a good pic when I see one. Or a mediocre one for that matter. Am not a fan of images that have been endlessly "worked upon". And definitely not a fan of HDR. My streets, at the moment, are the streets of London. Crap city, but a very photogenic one. ------------------------------------------------------------ All photos Copyright © Wolfgang Franosch Images may not be reproduced in any form without express written permission.
