THE MOST DIFFICULT THING IN PHOTOGRAPHY IS RESISTING THE TEMPTATION TO PRESS THE SHUTTER BUTTON.

• Today, everybody photographs, but not everybody takes photographs. This applies particularly to 'street photography'.

• Judging by what I see, shooting from the hip is futile about 90% of the time. There appear to be very few people capable of producing acceptable results.

• A photograph by the nature of being in black & white, does not automatically make it a good photograph.

• HDR is not a substitute for being creative, producing in the hands of the unskilled the most horrendous results. And it is for that reason that I wish that it had never been invented/discovered.

• My 2cts.

From a 6x9 Box Brownie to digital, which I rather like, I have owned and used a few cameras over the years. I have worked in photo journalism for many years, both in the field, and on the desk, and I think I know a good pic when I see one. Or a mediocre one for that matter.

Am not a fan of images that have been endlessly "worked upon". And definitely not a fan of HDR.

My streets, at the moment, are the streets of London. Crap city, but a very photogenic one.
