Anna Simpson

I'm a hobbyist photographer. I have been on a DSLR journey not yet 12mths and have learnt alot.
I have always taken photos with a p&s and any event I went to or outing, I would always have the camera. I finally took the plunge and bought a Canon 50D before they became scarce on the market. I made the right choice I think and have been using my kit lens the 18-200mm as my walkabout lens. Love it but of course the craving for sharper images has come. I always thought I could take some fab photos of my kids and pets but it's not that easy and even harder when the kids don't want a photo taken or the pet decides to get up and walk towards you. Treats don't work for the 16yo Manx cat but I can get some decent shots of my doggy Matilda though. I enjoy the world of macro and closeups of flowers and the simplicity that can seen. I do like landscapes/seascapes but need to practice and buy a wide lens.

I am currently doing a 365project, being a photo a day for the year which has been an interesting journey so far. During the warmer weather I would be out and about and so much to photograph although pelicans and sea/beach scenes were getting a bit old lol. Now that the winter weather is here, it's more difficult and I struggle to find things however with my tubes and adapter it's been a touch easier although lighting is a problem as I don't have a hot shoe flash yet. All in good time. Photography is such a learning curve and having been a mum for some years, the brain is happy to have something to learn. Loving it !

There is so much inspiration out there from other photographers which I thank everyone for being members of sites like this (and others).

I shall keep walking the path of photography, I hope you do too.
