Or, just decide at 5 am and drive around San Francisco to the GGB, getting lost along the way, and having a minor accident. that works too.

My trip to Malibu

Had a hard day at work. Got my brand new Sony DSC - R1. Nothing like driving on the CA 1 freeway towards the coast. Malibu is one of my favorite coastal areas. Really close to where I live. Approximately 30 minute drive. As I get ready, packing the essentials - camera, lens, batteries, tripod, remote release, filters, lens/sensor cleaning kit, laptop, and of course, a lot of compact flash cards. Oh yeah, and some energy bars and a bottle of water. As I drive through the 10 fwy then merging to the 1 fwy. I notice more people driving in the opposite lane. I'm driving against traffic. Passing Santa Monica, I arrive at Malibu. Driving slowly to find the perfect spot to setup my camera.
