NA GI, a biograghy
Nagi Elzubair Elmalik, also known as NA GI, is a Sudanese photographer and an architect by profession. He was born in 1979 in Atbara, Northern Sudan. The name “NA GI”, was uniquely chosen as his own artwork seal. It is now well known among photographers and photography fans.
NA GI' s first venture in photography saw the light in 1985 with a KODAK film Camera, ever since then he was constantly carrying this camera and visiting a number of photography exhibitions, from there his interest in photography nourished. Afterwards, NA GI envisioned a photography-related website that would combine the best of what other sites had to offer.
Since he was a student, NA GI focused on developing his skills in several photography areas such as landscape, portraits, and outdoor photography. He claims great satisfaction in crafting professional photographs of all types of subject material and enjoys the challenges that photography provides.
He contributed to making portrait photographs for covers and features of several public newspapers, websites and magazines as such as Sudanese online website, “Baker” newsletter produced and published by youth program at Salmmah Women’s Resource- a charity organization- and Sudanese National HIV/AIDS Program. He regularly contributes to adding a visual value to various daily newspaper articles such as Alrai Alaam, Alakhabar, Al Dar, Alahram Alyoum and Alsahafa.
As well, NA GI collaborated with the telecommunication company "MTN", by co-photographing their "Haboba" campaign in 2011 and also by photographing their first advert in Southern Sudan after the separation in the same year and photographer collaborator in all the company's ads from 2013 to 2015.

NA GI played a major role in the production of DAL Group- one of Sudan's national giant businesses- 2010 calendar with 12 photos of his own creative artwork

In 2009, he participated with a number of Sudanese professional photographers in an exhibition themed “Family” organized by the Goethe Institute in Khartoum. His work covered a wide range of themes but mostly Sufi gatherings, features of faces and unique facial expressions, daily life activities, events and ceremonies.
NA GI’s first exhibition was on the 11th of March 2010. It included a total of 30 photos and was titled “Old Home”. The exhibited shots were all from the northern part of Sudan where NA GI was born.
Following the launch of his first exhibition, he was hosted as a guest of honor by "Baitna" a TV program" at Sudan's national TV, and "Masaa Jadeed" the TV program produced by Blue Nile TV, followed by several interviews conducted with him in daily newspapers.Most recently in 2015 when he was selected as a photographer to appear in a television advert for the Sudanese Telecommunications Company

In his ongoing pursuit of perfection and professionalism in photography, NA GI travelled to six different countries: Egypt, Uganda, Belgium, France and the Netherlands and different states within Sudan including Blue Nile, Kasala, Northern state, River Nile, Khartoum, and White Nile.
His second exhibition was in Belgium; he was selected with another three photographers where15 photos of his were exhibited demonstrating his interest in Sufis. The exhibition was titled: " Sudan, a bridge between African and Arab cultures" it took place in Belgium Lokeren In the hall of the Cultural Center Kerkplein from April 28-15th of May 2011. The exhibition was inaugurated by Elke Clompen and was sponsored by the Cultural Center Lokeren. It is worth noting that this exhibition was attended by a number of Belgians, Sudanese and other nationalities who were all very impressed by NA GI's work. This international exhibition was covered by a number of Sudanese and European newspapers. NA GI was awarded an honorary certificate for his participation.
NA GI participated in the Visual Art Photography Exhibition which took place from 22nd-27th May 2012 in Papa Costa Restaurant/ Khartoum. This exhibition was a Sudanese Photographers Association project, sponsored by the Ministry of Culture
NA GI participated in the " City in change " Photography Exhibition which took place from 8th-11th October 2015 in Youth Palace / Omdurman. This exhibition was a Sudanese Photographers Association project, sponsored by the Goethe institute .
NA GI is one of the founders of Sudanese Photographers Association and is in charge of the association’s public relations (2012-2014).
NA GI participated in documenting UNFPA missions in Algadarif, Doka and Galabat.
NA GI’S photos were selected to feature in a number of companies’ 2014 agendas: MTN, In The City Magazine and Hikma.
NA GI was a collaborating photographer for the British Council in 2013.
NA GI was selected to participate in a collective photo exhibition themed “Stories of the Nile”, sponsored by the Goethe Institute. The exhibition was an end product of a workshop instructed by the German photographer Andre Lutzen. The workshop featured photographers from Egypt, Ethiopia, South Sudan and Sudan, during the period from 13th- 20th June 2013
NA GI was selected to participate in a photography entitled modern times ,sponsored by the Goethe Institute, conducted by the German photographer Andre Lutzen and the south African photographer Ms. Michelle Loukidis, held between 29th September and 15th October 2015 in cooperating with Sudanese photographer group in Khartoum.
