What the hell happened to 500px?

Published February 22nd, 2012

Very disappointed in the way this upgrade has been handled, what with the impersonal copy/paste responses from the Support Team, to the vanishing of the Wall, Activity, and now a forced 'Flow' landing page rather than my Gallery.

This is an upgrade? Our walls are gone, also the straightforward home page with all the beautiful photos, which had so impressed my referrals is gone.

Oh, and let me mention the Wall again. GONE. With all of the nice member comments we've received. Not to mention the blog option.

Furthermore, a direct link to my user page will no longer bring any one to my gallery, instead something called "Flow".

Flow? Who gives a shit about that? This isn't Google+. Or Flickr.

I liked that when one visited my page they saw my GALLERY. Now they have to click something called 'Photos'.

Not, Najwa's Photos, but Photos. Who's photos? And why should anyone click that tab.

How sad. Reasons to upgrade to a paid sub now? None

new kid on the 500px block

Published February 15th, 2012

what a change from deviantArt this place is, i like it.

quiet :)

after reading many of the comments i've received on my photos, i figured they were so brief and full of adjectives because that's how 500px users tended comment... every photo sharing site differs and it seems varies in social climate and comment protocol..

then i thought about the fact that you cannot reply directly to each and every comment and realized that that probably has a lot to do with the one word commentary on most photos here.

well, soon that will change - a future option to respond to individual comments will be implemented shortly, or so i read.

having the option to able to personally thank people for their feedback and respond to questions is a crucial amenity to me, so once that happens, i think i'll be subscribing.

inbox of sorts would be nice, but i can settle for being able to respond to comments :]

i think that will provide a more community feel. either way, i like it here.

not too shabby!
