Nate Powers

Nate Powers has had interest in the arts dating back to middle school, starting with dance in the 6th grade. In high school, he found the love of being behind the camera and has never looked back. With his passion of dance and the arts, He focuses his photography in the Editorial, Fashion field. Nate enjoys the challenge of the trends changing from one day to the next. Keeping up with these trends and meshing them with the past is something we all enjoy doing. Staying informed in the photography field and the fashion world has been quite a journey with lovely results. Recently, he has gone back to his roots and started his “Just Dance” series. The series is a photographic exploration of dance. The series focuses on placing his dancers in locations most would never expect. These locations are run down buildings, airport hangers, country hay barns. Nate Powers is currently attending The Art Institute of Pittsburgh for photography. He is graduating in the Spring of 2012. After graduating, he plans on moving out west to find work as an assistant or his own studio. Nate’s goal is to one day return to the photo labs and teach college photography himself.
