A young talented Toronto native, Nathan Dell-Vandenberg draws on many corners of his life and experiences to cultivate the unique eye that has become the trademark of his photography. Nathan has dabbled in many artistic realms, most notably, Nathan is known around the Toronto Jazz scene as a talented trombonist who composes his own brand of unidentifiable, mystique jazz. A well versed, highly regarded award winning composer, arranger and bandleader, Nathan has followed in the footsteps of his artist mother Lori Dell and branched out into the more visual side of his artistry.
In his photography work Nathan seeks to find the beauty and humor of the things that we so often neglect to look at closely. With an insatiable thirst for exploration, it is not surprising that much of Nathan’s subject matter deals with the derelict, abandoned and often forgotten corners of Toronto and beyond.
