I'm an engineer by profession, photographer by passion - I love going out with my camera, but I make no money out of it, so for now I'm keeping my day job. This at least gives me the freedom to shoot what I want, when I want.
If you're interested in using one of my photos, then please have a look at my Getty Images Portfolio. If the one you're interested in isn't there, then send me a message and we can probably work something out (unless you consider "exposure for my photography" reasonable payment).
I'm happiest with a beautiful landscape in front of my lens; portrait photography has always been more a weakness for me technically, although it's something I would love to get better at. But I also enjoy being outdoors and hiking, even if I don't get to do as much as I would like to, and a lake and mountains with great lighting is all I need to keep me busy.
I also love to travel, and always have one or two guidebooks around my living room planning my next trip. Asia is a favorite for me and always will be, for the landscapes, the food, and the people.
I have the following gear:
- Nikon D7100 body
- Nikon D90 body (backup)
- Nikon 18-105mm f/3.5-5.6 lens
- Nikon 35mm f/1.8 lens
- Nikon 50mm f/1.8 lens
- Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 lens
- Tamron 70-300mm f/4-5.6 lens
- Hoya NDX400 filter (aka "black glass")
- Cullmann Nanomax 450 RW20 tripod
Lately I have been taking more and more shots with my 18-105mm lens and Hoya NDX400 filter, which is a 9 stop neutral density filter allowing me to take very long exposures. The filter accentuates the natural blue hue at blue hour just after the sun has set. I particularly like the results when I find a cityscape with water (which then becomes smoothed over a long exposure) to give a slightly surreal but still natural look to my shots.
