Mike Marano

Mike began his creative search after a change of careers In 2008. Working at a small design firm in New Jersey he felt it was time to explore his creative side . With a background in Marketing and advertising he decided to search creative outlets in this field. He soon after relocated to Atlanta where he would find his passion for photography. His stencil art was the gate way for his ideas to come to life . He had no skills in drawing or painting but his wild imagination made for great ideas that photography became the perfect medium. As a self-taught photographer with a passion for portraiture inspiration started with the work of some of the greats Joe McNally, Sandro Miller & Irving Penn. Soon after purchasing his first DSLR he trained by trial and error with a small studio lighting kit and local models. He pushed himself to learn every aspect there was to making a great picture. From composition to lighting to retouching and compositing. Landing his first part time gig as a realestate photographer for a small developer in Atlanta he began to devote all his time and energy to become a fulltime freelance photographer. Mike currently resides in NJ where he is freelancing and living his dream working on personal projects and other gigs......
