Capturing my First Lightning Shot

This is my experience when i captured my very first LIGHTNING...was it planned or intentional? somewhat no..somewhat yes. Lightnings are fascinating to capture, it's every photographer's dream i may say. And to be able to capture even just one is a priceless achievement as a photographer. When I captured the image of the lightning it was truly priceless, made me proud because it wasn't just a plain image of a lightning in the sky but i captured it with the iconic Washington Monument. What makes the image more interesting was the experience and story behind how the image was taken. It all started one spring day at dusk in Washington DC, I set up myself at the National Mall between the Washington Monument and World War II Memorial, I sat on the lawn, set up my camera with ultrawide lens and mounted it to my gorillapod and patiently waited for the sun to set and to start photographing the monument.
