A few words about my approach to photography.

An image should produce a reaction, should be provocative, questioning and provide a different perspective. It should aim for the unexpected and look for the beauty in the unusual. The image might subvert or improve upon reality. If any of my images get anywhere near these goals then I might be onto something; if not, well I'll keep striving.

Beauty is not inherent in anything, it is to be found by another way of seeing. The beauty of the cracked, peeling door or picturesque disorder. Where is the beauty in a cliched (correct) view? The distinctions between what is beautiful and ugly, true and false, useful and useless, good taste and bad, must give way to what is ‘interesting’.

Is photography 'art'? It can be. The pursuit of an artistic goal is the aim. Whether approaching commercial or personal projects these principles inform my work.
