Duane Pandorf

I've always had an interest in photography. I have recently decided to get a little more serious with my photography hobby. That's why this website was created. This has come about due to a new camera purchase I made recently for an extended hiking trip. I purchased a Ricoh GRD III and have found a new passion for my hobby through this little gem. Its forced me to take more time with my compositions and I believed its done more for my photography skills than the DSLRs I've owned over the past few years. My first DSLR was the Nikon D100 and when the D200 was announced I preordered it along with the Nikon 18-200 "travel" lens.

I travel for my job (pilot) and over the last couple years my DSLR stayed home. It became a burden most of the time to carry. Especially now with new airport rules I'm always concerned with the camera and lens being damaged if for some reason I would have to remove them from the bag going through security. So I just about quit carrying my camera.

However, with my recent purchase of my GRD my passion has been rekindled. My GRD is always with me and I've taken more photos this past year than ever before. Granted many have been thrown away, but what it has done for me is practice and practice.

The smaller camera has turned my hardware attention towards the serious compact cameras. So I've just recently purchased the Ricoh GXR with A12 28mm lens. I'm looking forward to using it in my travels. I believe the improved IQ and small footprint this camera offers will allow me to have it with me all the time in my travels.

My goal for this site is mainly to document my travels while on the road. My flying job can take me anywhere in the world every other week of the year. In the meantime, I'll be populating the linked Collections on this site with, in my opinion only, some of my better shots I've taken over the years.

Nikon D200
Nikon 18-200
Nikon 10.5
