She has during the genocide in Burundi as a 7-year-old girl witnessed her entire family (mother, father, aunts ....) is butchered with machetes. Then she was thrown alive into a mass grave where she and her 5-year-old sister crawledout and they escaped into the jungle. Luckily, they ended up in an orphanage. This was followed by illegal adoption (yes, that was still possible in the 90s). They have 'made' her another 2 years younger than she was officially, because it is easier for adoption. Given the circumstances she is now 21 years and doing very well. Next months she will graduate as a bachelor.
But crying is very very difficult and she already has a long and difficult course taken. This is in a nutshell. The rest you can imagine.
