Nothing Better Than A Good Storm

Published May 28th, 2011

Spring has to be the best season of the year; it's not too hot but you still get warm days and cool nights, the snow and mud and grey and browns fade to greens and blues, there's finally some leaves on the trees for the breeze to blow through, and the rain smells oh so fresh.
And while not everyone likes them, I've got a tremendous fondness for thunderstorms. We don't usually get the devastating tornadoes that other parts of North America get (although they've definitely happened here) so the storm is usually "just a storm".
Once in a while we luck out and, before the day becomes the night, the storm passes and the sun blazes out and all that glorious green is soaked and dripping. I love that light.

The grass gets covered with dampness. The best part is, the front lawn isn't so brown anymore.

At some point, it burns off the recent moisture.
The forecast for the next week is nice and clear. But another storm next month isn't going to bother me in the least!
