I was born on the 1st September 1973 in Lisbon. Due to my profession – I work with graphic arts as and offset printer, currently more focused on large format digital printing – early on I got in touch with photography.
Over the years I developed a natural curiosity about the way the images I saw and manipulate on a daily basis were captured until the day, in 2008, encouraged by my wife, I also began shooting.
By then I spent much of my time at Ericeira, my favorite spot ever and the themes that first caught my attention were sunsets and waterscapes.
I am self-taught, and believe that with photography learning is a continuous process which happens much by the influence and company of other photographers. It was precisely in the company of my good friend Paulo Rui Martins I started to learn the technical aspects of photography.
Some of my pictures have been published in specialized magazines and recently I opened my first solo exhibition. Also during the month of June a group exhibition is being held in Lisbon where I participate with some works.
Photography has changed my life, my way of seeing the world and also my way of being. I know I'm still at the beginning of a long journey, but I'm happy with how I got here, and longing for what I'm going to see and do in this area.
