Taking pictures for me is a way of immortalizing our world, and of documenting our history. I see art in people, places, buildings, nature and architecture. Photography for me is a way of learning to see and to appreciate beauty in many strange and exotic places. Many years ago my city Curitiba, Brazil had the honor of hosting the first International Biannual Photography Exhibition in Brazil. At the time I was working as a producer for a Brazilian TV network and one of my jobs was to cover this wonderful event. After the event ended we had all this incredible footage, so we decided to produce a mini documentary of the event and I wrote the text bellow to accompany the story.

"Time passes by inexorably,
It continues its march and never looks back.
Photography registers the passage of time,
Freezing and immortalizing
Moments,
Situations,
Animals,
Objects,
People, and places."

"That same sensitivity that light uses
to impress an image,
is necessary in the soul of the photographer,
An artist who utilizes the technique
To record,
document,
preserve
And denounce,
Often risking his/her life to get an image."

"Investigative and optimistic,
Intuitiveness to be present
at the right place at the right time,
Without missing any detail,
Stealing moments
through the lens of the camera,
To later share them with the whole world."

"Universal language, which needs no translation,
Eternal challenge to combine
Light,
Time,
Conditions,
With moments and situations,
Always attempting to convey a message."

That is photography!
