As well as Joe Cornish and Mark Banks, Phil’s other influences include Charlie Waite, Rafael Rojas, Colin Prior, Doug Chinnery, Simon Butterworth, Peter Lik & Bruce Percy and artists such as Klimt, Caravaggio, Turner and Constable. Phil’s plans for the future hope to be a touring exhibition of the Shropshire Hills and a book of fine art photography covering the local Shropshire countryside.

The Quantum Project

A selection of perspectives from the 'Quantum Leap' sculpture in Shrewsbury, Shropshire.

I've frozen aspects of the sculpture that represent a feeling for the various prehistoric periods with a hint of the mythical thrown in.

Designed by Pearce & Lal, the sculpture is an impressive 12 metres high and 17.5 metres long, weighing in at more than 100 tonnes. The design itself is open to interpretation and has already been likened to a shell, human vertebrae, DNA, a dinosaurs skeleton and more. Jon King, Darwin coordinator explains: “What we wanted was an iconic structure - something that was big, was bold, but something that could be interpreted in different ways.”
