Philippe Haumont

Journalist, photographer, reveler.

“My ideal picture? The one we'll never make, to never lose the pleasure of always having to seek it.”

To say more :

I was born in Paris, in cabbages, in 1953, like all the little boys at the time, the famous baby boom time. True, my parents told me. One is well in cabbages, better than the girls who prick themselves in their roses. I would have like to stay here.

I have never worked, I hate it ! But I gave myself pleasure, always. Luckily, I've honestly lived like this.

I am often struggling to make me happy at all costs. It needs of course to give pleasure to others. Needless to develop but it's more than a principle, it's a resource.

Journalism opened to me through my disability and my commitments. Various writings, papers, books, hundreds and thousands of meetings, life what.

The photography came to me as I was 15 y.o., with my first Nikon, the same one as David Hemmings in "Blow up". Then in labs, studios, weddings. Just to see.

I adore to lose my head, I am a guy with problems, seeking solutions that never suit me. So I had to learn the compromises (long years of work there).

I do not llike the family, traditions, churches, small chiefs, celebrities, french cinema, god, constraints, whims, egos, Vincent Delerm, XVIe district of Paris…

I love unexpected, meetings, questions, images and words, revolutions, mockery, politics, subway, corsican cooking, modesty, Arabs, the time which goes…

Sure now, when I grow up, I will be photographer!

As a (temporary) conclusion, I think that a good photograph should be at the point of balance between three requirements: an idea (or feeling), shooting (or click) and processing (or editing ). In theory, of course…
