Yesterday's forecast was calling for severe thunderstorms so in anticipation I packed my gear and jumped on my bike before the storm was set to arrive.

Big, dark clouds were filling in fast from the south west so I found a good spot, set up and waited.

I waited for almost 2 hours, but when the show finally started it didn't disappoint. I ended up getting around 20 decent shots of lightning, but this one's my favourite so far.

With the temperature being 40+ celsius yesterday, riding home in the rain, with the sky flickering all around, was the perfect way to cap off a lucky night of shooting.

In case you're wondering, here's everything I used to get this shot:
- Nikon D700 on tripod
- Nikon 50mm 1.8 lens
- Camera settings: f/8, 1.6 second exposure, ISO 800
