Donny suggested I go for a low angle on this shot. I was suspicious of his motives, thinking he had hoped for some amusement at the perceived possibility my camera mounted below the tripod inches above the water may go for a swim.
I had already had an earlier misshap further up the valley. I took Donny’s advice to go for a higher angle on Empress falls. While rounding the top of the scrub my camera slipped off my shoulder and continued to tumble, slide bounce and fall on its way to lower ground. When we finally found her she was covered in mud, fern fronds and bits of stick. A quick rinse off in the stream and she was working fine, the only damage being a buckled skylight filter. Canon definitely design a good degree of durability into their bodies.
Its all good fun!
